Nyambaria High School continues to take bold steps toward strengthening its infrastructure, expanding opportunities for learners, and deepening collaboration with its alumni. During the recent consultative meeting between the school administration and the Alumni Executive, development remained a central theme, with several major projects and initiatives discussed.
A key highlight was the progress of the Multipurpose Hall project. What began as an alumni initiative has grown into an ambitious development project. The school administration redesigned the original plans to increase the hall's capacity from 5,000 to more than 10,000 people.
This expansion will serve both current and future generations of students by providing adequate space for academic, cultural, and community events.
The project has also attracted government support, with the national government committing to assist in the roofing phase. Alumni leaders toured the construction site and expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far. As part of their continued commitment, the Alumni Executive announced the donation of 150 bags of cement to accelerate construction. The school administration acknowledged this contribution and welcomed continued partnership in completing the landmark facility.
Beyond physical infrastructure, the meeting focused on building a stronger alumni network to support future development. The executive resolved to consolidate an alumni database and launch a digital mapping exercise targeting more than 10,000 alumni worldwide. This initiative aims to strengthen professional networking, mobilize resources, and create partnerships that will support long term development projects at the school.
In a notice issued Saturday, the Kenyan Embassy in Abu Dhabi said the grace period applies to eligible individuals whose travel and residency arrangements were disrupted by the recent regional situation.
The Principal also encouraged the executive to reconnect with distinguished alumni serving in senior positions across public and private institutions. Strengthening these relationships is expected to open new opportunities for mentorship, corporate partnerships, and investment in school development initiatives.
Another major development is the ongoing upgrade of the Kopana Grounds. The recently acquired 41 acre property is being transformed into a modern sports and arts complex in preparation for regional competitions. Developing these facilities away from the main campus will allow co curricular activities to flourish while preserving a conducive academic environment within the school.
The meeting also explored ways of strengthening alumni engagement through an annual Alumni Weekend. The proposed event will combine mentorship, networking, and student engagement while reinforcing the bond between former students and their alma mater. Planning for the inaugural event is expected to begin with the preparation of a detailed concept paper for presentation to the school administration.
The resolutions adopted during the meeting demonstrate a shared commitment to sustainable growth. From expanding infrastructure and improving sports facilities to mobilizing alumni and building strategic partnerships, every initiative is designed to position Nyambaria High School for continued excellence.
Development is not measured only by buildings.
